KB Yachts has developed a unique way of Shrink Wrapping a vessel prior to it loading aboard the transport ship that allows the captain to maneuver the boat after being shrink wrapped. The main reason we developed this concept of the "Boat Skin" Shrink Wrap system was from feed back from our customers and shippers (Sea Ship Carriers not Land Trailers), as some boats were not being wrapped on the day aboard the transport ship due to rain, strong winds and scheduling.
The beauty of our "Boat Skin" Shrink Wrap is that it can be applied at your Marina prior to shipping, still allowing you full access to handle lines, fenders and maneuver without constraints. Hence, fully protecting your vessel from all foot traffic while loading and unloading aboard the transport ship. This way the boat will be guaranteed to be protected with shrink wrap and will not interfere with the transport ships logistics.
Prior to wrapping the "Boat Skin" way Yachts would normally be enclosed in a complete shrink wrap tent aboard the ship on loading day depending on the weather. This creates problems for the Transport Company's Deck Crew as they would be unable to move around on the yacht to properly attach strapping, and many times the shrink wrap would have to be cut open to access the cleats. This makes it more likely for the shrink wrapping to come off as there would be a large hole in the material allowing the wind to tear it apart. So make the smart decision and have your boat shrink wrapped the "Boat Skin" way.
